At Sonoma Slabs, we understand that acquiring a beautiful live edge slab is the first step in your creative journey. Due to the unique size, weight, and value of our slabs, we offer tailored shipping and convenient local pickup options to ensure your piece arrives safely and efficiently.

Local Pickup

For customers located in or near Northern California, local pickup is available directly from our facility. This is often the most cost-effective and fastest way to receive your slab.

Freight Shipping (LTL - Less Than Truckload)

For larger slabs and orders that cannot be shipped via standard parcel services, we utilize Less Than Truckload (LTL) freight carriers. This method is designed for heavy, oversized items and ensures your slab is handled with care.

• Packaging: Each slab is securely packaged and crated for protection during transit. This professional crating helps prevent damage and ensures the integrity of your unique piece.
• Delivery Options:
  • Commercial Delivery: If you have access to a commercial address with a loading dock or forklift, this is typically the most straightforward and cost-effective delivery method.
  • Residential Delivery with Liftgate Service: For residential deliveries, a liftgate service is often required by the freight carrier to lower the slab from the truck to the ground. Please note that this service incurs an additional fee. The slab will be delivered to your driveway or curb; carriers are not typically responsible for moving it into your home or shop.
  • Terminal Pickup: You may also choose to pick up your crated slab directly from the freight carrier's nearest terminal. This can sometimes reduce shipping costs, and you would need a vehicle capable of loading and transporting the slab.
• Delivery Inspection is CRITICAL:

  You MUST inspect your slab carefully upon arrival, BEFORE the delivery driver leaves. Look for any signs of damage to the crate or the slab itself. If you notice any damage, no matter how minor, you must:

  1. Note the damage directly on the delivery receipt/bill of lading. Be specific (e.g., "Crate crushed on corner," "Slab scratched," "Hole in packaging").
  2. Take clear photos of the damage to the packaging AND the slab from multiple angles.

  Failure to note damage on the delivery receipt releases the carrier from liability, and we may not be able to assist with a claim. Your signature on the delivery receipt without noting damage indicates the item was received in good condition.

Small Parcel Shipping

Smaller items, such as slab cut-offs, samples, or specific accessories (if offered), may be eligible for shipping via UPS, FedEx, or USPS Ground services. Shipping costs for these items will be calculated at checkout.

Shipping Costs & Lead Times

Due to the unique nature of each slab, freight shipping costs are calculated based on the slab's weight, dimensions, destination, and the specific delivery services required (e.g., liftgate).
